Stop the Bleeding In Your Internet Business
by Dan
In the past week I’ve received 10+ emails/comments from people saying they need to stop the “bleeding”. For many people more money is going out than coming in.
Here are 5 ways to stop the outpouring of money from your pockets while you’re trying to do get into profit-mode…
#1 Buy only what you need to advance your business right now, right this second, today. Make sure it is necessary, and not wanted.
#2 Reduce your learning and increase your implementation habits. Real learning, education, and wisdom comes from actually trying to implement your ideas/methods etc…
#3 Stop wasting time. Use RSS readers to get quality content on the subject matter of choice and stop eating from the email marketing trough waiting to buy stuff. Develop into a person who is building a business NOT by purchasing items, but by building up your online empire and virtual real estate.
#4 Cancel everything except for what you really need for your business right now.
Are you in a paid forum?
· Why are you paying for advice that’s freely available at the Warrior Forum?
· Why are you lurking in forums in the first place, to feel like part of a group?
· Is anyone in that group actually doing something (implementing) for you besides advising you?
Are you a member of a membership site that delivers a certain # of products for you?
I consider these one of the most useless types of membership sites because they’re actually harmful to you and your business.
· Is there a real benefit from gaining access to 10 new products a month?
· Does your business really need 10 products a month?
· What can you possibly do with 10 new products each month besides read them and possibly re-sell them?
I’m pretty sure you can’t implement 10 new marketing methods each month, or can you? Most people right now aren’t implementing anything
I understand these types of sites are providing the illusion of “great value”, but it’s harmful to many people because it’s adding to their information overload and it’s a method by which people self-damage their chances of succeeding by making it harder to extract themselves from the information overload trap.
Are you a member of a mastermind group?
Why? To get ideas, more ideas, more ideas, and hob-nob with others to create… more ideas?
Are any of these other masterminds actually doing something for you like creating a site/offer/deal/discount/JV/ links for you?
I understand that making plans is exciting and really fun to do, but:
- It doesn’t get sites built.
- It doesn’t make sales.
- It doesn’t benefit you unless implementation is involved in some way
#5 Fire the mentors/local gurus whose mail list you’re on.
I’m not saying to ignore or refuse to get emails from other marketers, but do some introspection to see what it is you need to DO right now, and then go do it. If you’re on someone’s list that doesn’t help you with what you need right now, unsubscribe from that list.
Go back later if you wish, but get rid of your email clutter ASAP. Keep doing this until you see yourself checking emails less frequently because there’s less Inbox “help” waiting for you and the only thing left for you to DO is to…. Do something
Naturally, of course, you want to unsubscribe from those who
A- Don’t provide valuable newsletters
B- Don’t honor your unsubscribe request (many big names do this)
So, What’s your plan?
If I met you in an elevator, what would you tell me if I asked you,
“So, what’s your marketing plan for the next 30 days?”
It’s time to start using your noggin’ folks… your most valuable online marketing asset is NOT your list
Nobody is going to do this FOR you. Nobody is going to think for you.
Education eventually comes down to what you DO.
What you DO builds experiences, good and bad.
Those experiences build up your most valuable asset ( see above)
With experience comes true knowledge and confidence.
With confidence comes the proper mindset for business-management: A no-fear attitude.
The business-person that builds up his/her most valuable asset while strutting around with a TRUE no-fear mindset succeeds where over-analytical, smarter, serial learners fail.
